Hair loss is a very common problem that is faced by men and women of a certain age. Sometimes it is due to a side effect from other medications and at other times it may be due to an illness. Either way, a receding hairline poses a very daunting problem in the social lives of the people suffering from it. Although there are a wide range of solutions available, people are always hesitant about the kind of treatment that is suitable for them. Between medication and surgery, there is a lot of confusion about their effectiveness. Due to the pharmaceutical companies always promoting their products and you not having sufficient insurance coverage, it can be very difficult to treat the cause of your hair loss.

The more obvious problem with surgery is that it is very expensive. Unless you have insurance coverage or are a millionaire, being able to afford it is very difficult. However, it is because of the years of training that doctors have to go through in order to be certified and the sophisticated instruments that have to be used, that such form of surgery comes at such a steep price. However, there are more substantial guarantees because of the science involved. Surgeons would have to extract hair follicles form your donor area and create grafts that would have to be inserted with microscopic precision into incisions made on your scalp.
Several insertions would have to be made into your scalp throughout the day of operation and although unlikely, there is the remote chance of post operation side effects; but complications can be very easily treated with anti-biotics and pain killers. Semi-permeable dressings would have to be applied at least daily and two days after the surgery, shampoo would have to be applied to avoid the formation of scabs. Results would be seen three to six months from the date of surgery.

As opposed to surgery, the use of hair loss pills is not so complicated. The majority of hair loss medication can be ordered online and applying them is very easy too. The problem however, with such medication is that it may not be able to treat your cause for hair loss. Hair loss can be triggered by various factors and different initiatives would have to be taken to prevent them. If the cause of your hair loss is genetic in nature then certain pills which target dihydrotestosterone can be benefit you. Dihydrotestosterone, is a hormone that cases your hair follicles to shrink, thereby restricting the nutrients for your hair. Certain herbs can lower DHT levels and can therefore ensure the growth of healthy new hair. The use of hair loss pills is ill-advised when you are either pregnant or nursing; this is mostly because of the chemicals in these pills which can have harmful effects on your fetus. There is also the risk of other side effects as well which is why it is always recommended that you consult with a qualified trichologist before using such medication.

So regardless of whether you are looking for traditional or alternate remedies, rest assured that there are advantages and disadvantages of both. If you are worried about the state of your hair, then the wisest thing that you can do is to consult with a doctor and discuss your available options. If you have other hair loss experiences and remedies, then please feel free to comment!

It’s the rare man that wants to spend hours getting ready for a day at work or a night out on the town. This summer’s fun fashion trends make dressing easy and quick. Look for great colours, comfortable fabrics and great accessories to kick off your summer in style. Here are fun fashion trends for this season, guaranteed to make you look fashionable with barely an effort:

Sportswear

This season, men’s fashion is all about sportswear. And no, we don’t mean throwing on your worn out sweats and ratty tennis shoes. Fashion this season has taken inspiration from all facets of the sports world: from shirts reminiscent of the polo field to jackets taken right off the college campus, these trends are hot, hot, hot! Look for hoodies without zippers, short-sleeved raglan tees and Bermuda shorts that hit mid-knee. You’ll look trendy and effortless!

Custom T’s

This season is all about individuality! Take on your creative side and hit the internet to create your own fashion. Many online clothing companies are giving you the chance to customize just about anything, so take the initiative and run with it! For starters check out spreadshirt.com, they are super user friendly and you can get your fashionable creation within a couple of days!

Bags

If you didn’t buy into the man-bag trend of summer’s gone by, good for you! The murse is now obsolete, considered to be a bridge to the now popular backpack. When choosing a great backpack, look for durable canvas and leather bags that have an air of masculinity. Leave the Jansport bags on the shelf! A sturdy backpack can take you from work to the beach, giving you a hip, trendy look that others will admire.

Accessories

Accessories are becoming more popular for men; when worn correctly. Don’t load yourself down with a hat, tie, watch, scarf and sunglasses. Choose one or two accessories and wear them well. If you want to wear a burst of colour in your blazer’s breast pocket, skip the tie. If you want to wear a watch, skip the pinky ring. A great hat can take the place of sunglasses but doesn’t need to be worn in conjunction with them. It’s all about the understated, trendy look with accessories. Choose wisely!

Natural Fabrics

Designers are jumping on the green bandwagon and offering more options in the way of natural fabrics. Look for clothing and accessories made with organic cotton or natural fabrics like hemp and bamboo. These fabrics are kinder to the environment, nicer to your skin and give you a stylish look without making it appear as though you spend hours getting dressed. If you want to take it a step further, visit a great site like MooShoes and look for environmentally-friendly kicks.
With a closet full of the latest gear, you can easily wake-up, get dressed and walk out of the house looking trendy in 15 minutes or less. This summer’s men’s fashion will give you a sporty, casual appearance that you’ll love. Just be prepared for all that attention you get from the ladies!

Planning a wedding can be an exciting as well as a frustrating event. There are so many decisions to make and details to attend to. Preparing for this event can take months and has a tendency to consume just about every aspect of your life until the big day. Unfortunately, during this time, couples forget to cover some topics that will affect you into your married life. Following are a few areas that you should discuss with your future spouse before walking down the aisle:

Who Washes and Who Dries

Unless you have been living together, you will need to have a discussion about household duties. If you do not have this discussion, you are opening the beginning of your marriage to confusion, arguments, and possibly contempt. Talk to your future life partner and ask them what chores they like/don’t mind doing and what they absolutely loathe and then decide on who will do what and what will be shared. Being able to come home from your honeymoon and know exactly who will do the laundry and who will do the grocery shopping will help you to get on your way to a well oiled machine.

The Holiday Tug of War

Do not wait until the first holiday to figure out which side of the family you will be spending it with. Understand that you will have to compromise in order to try to fit everything and everyone in. Talk with your fiancé to find out what traditions their family has and share what your family’s traditions are so that making the decision can be a little easier. You may want to start your own traditions as a new couple, which you will then need to explain what you are doing to each side of the family so as to prepare them properly.

Growing the Family

Most likely you have already discussed whether or not you will be having children and how many, which is an important factor when creating a life together. The discussion does need to go a little further though. Talk with them about what kind of discipline you believe in, how you want to educate your children, what faith they will be taught, what values you would like to institute in them, and so on. Remember that you and your fiancé were raised in two completely different atmospheres and there will be things that you want to use when parenting as well as things that you want to steer clear of; just make sure that your partner feels the same. If you two disagree on issues, talking early will help the two of you to find common ground.

Sharing the Finances

When the two of you become one on your wedding day, that also includes your financial situation. Know what you are getting into before you make it legally binding. You should sit down with your future companion and share everything that has to do with money. Pull your credit reports, bank statements, investment statements, and anything else that has to do with finances. If there are issues, discuss how those issues will be rectified and decide if that needs to be done before marriage or not. Once you have had full disclosure, then you will need to decide if your money will be community or individual. After that has been established, it would be prudent to create a budget so that you are both on the same page when it comes to your finances.
Making sure that your marriage is strong will start well before you exchange vows. Dig as deep as you can into what makes each of you who you are so that you can establish a strong foundation in which to build upon. The more you know ahead of time will help to alleviate some of the bumps in the road that will surly occur.

If you find yourself eating more takeout meals than home cooked meals, chances are that you aren’t eating as healthy as you could be. As more popular restaurant chains add drive-thru or carry-out services to their menu, more people are dining out for the sake of convenience. If this sounds like you, it’s time to take control of the takeout menu and begin to eat in a more healthy way. Here’s how:

Order Dressing on the Side

Dressing is a virtual salad killer. If you’re ordering a salad in an attempt to eat a healthy meal, the dressing that you choose can ruin your meal in no time flat. Instead of having your dressing added to your salad, ask for it on the side. When you sit down to eat, don’t pour your dressing over your salad. Instead, dip your fork in the dressing and then pierce your lettuce. You’ll have just the right amount of dressing to add flavor without adding dozens of calories!

Get Down With the Brown

Whether you are ordering a main dish that comes with sides or ordering sides in lieu of a meal, skip anything that’s white. Choose brown rice, whole grain breads, wheat pastas and sweet potatoes instead of their lighter colored siblings. Not only will you be choosing healthier options, you’ll be selecting foods that are more satisfying. Eating these foods will fill you up more quickly and keep you fuller for longer.

Skip the Fried Food

Fried food is yummy, there’s no doubt about it! Fried food is also ridiculously high in calories. Instead of choosing fried chicken or fish, ask for grilled or broiled meats or fish. Grilling and broiling are much healthier ways of preparing meats and are just as flavorful.

If there is a particular dish that you’re craving, don’t skip it just because its featured meat is fried! Ask if the cook can prepare the same dish using grilled or broiled meat instead. Most restaurants will be happy to adjust a meal to please their customers.

Load Up on Veggies

Whenever you’re given the choice, load up on veggies! Whether you’re ordering a side or main, packing your plate full of vegetables is one of the easiest ways to make sure your meal is healthy. Most restaurants offer vegetarian dishes or dishes that can easily be transformed into vegetarian dishes. If you decide to fill your plate with vegetables, make sure that they aren’t slathered in butter!

Order it Naked

Many meals on any restaurants would be healthy if it weren’t for the sauces, butters, gravies and cheeses that they are swimming in. If you simply can’t resist having that double cheeseburger, go for it! Just ask for it plain. When you bring it home, add healthy toppings from your own refrigerator to make it uniquely yours. If the sauce s your favorite part of the sandwich, ask for it on the side. Dip your sandwich before you take a bite to get flavor with fewer calories.
If you’re trying to eat healthy, there’s no reason why you can’t order takeout from your favorite restaurant! If you know how to choose healthier options and aren’t afraid to ask that some menu items be tailored to your tastes, you can eat in a healthy way, even if you aren’t cooking it yourself!

If you drive in the city frequently, whether for work, school or pleasure, it pays to know the best vehicles for your needs. Not every car is built for the frequent starts and stops of urban driving, and not every car is made for long treks down a rural road. Additionally, some vehicles are just too big for the limited amount of space available in a thriving metropolis.

Here are the five best cars for your city driving habits:

1. 2012 Ford Fiesta

This new entry into the market by one of the top names in the auto industry, the Fiesta, is a comfortable, easy to drive vehicle. With an MSRP at just under $14,000, the car is affordable for virtually everyone and won’t drive your insurance premiums through the roof. Even though the car has a conventional engine, it is fantastic on gas, meaning you won’t have to fill up every time you drive around the block.

2. 2011 Mazda 2

This kicky little car is incredibly comfortable and has little to no visibility issues, unlike many vehicles in its class. The car boasts an impressive 27mpg in the automatic version, and 29mpg in the manual version. If you enjoy driving a stick, the manual version of this car is the perfect choice for you!

3. 2011 Nissan Cube

Don’t let the boxy look of this vehicle turn you off! Once you give it a test drive, you’ll quickly see why so many people are singing its praises. This zippy offering from Nissan is as nimble as it is unique, providing a great ride in the big city. With ample cargo space, this vehicle is perfect for those with kids and pets. The automatic offers better gas mileage than the manual, at 27mpg compared to 25mpg. Available in cool, hip colors, the Nissan Cube virtually screams “urbanite” to all those you pass on the road.

4. 2012 Ford Focus

Ford recently redesigned its top seller, giving it a sleek new look that’s sure to appeal to the older crowd. What once was thought of as a kid’s car, the new Focus is longer and more streamlined, boasting 28mpg in the city. Whether you choose the automatic or the manual version of this first-class vehicle, you’ll find stopping and starting an absolute pleasure.

5. 2011 Honda CR-Z

This hybrid from Honda boasts the best mileage of all the cars in its class. At 35mpg, you’ll have to stop at the pump only once or twice a month which can save you, at least, $50 a month. At just under $20,000, the CR-Z is the least expensive hybrid that you can buy today. If you have children and pets, or if you haul things home from the shops frequently, you should be aware that this vehicle has no back seat. If you can handle a two-seater, however, this sporty car is a great option.

If you are looking for a car that runs for miles before you have to refill its fuel tank, chances are you’re trying to save a bit of money each month. If that’s the case, don’t forget to consider your auto insurance premiums! Before you look at any one of these vehicles, contact your insurance agent and find out what effect each will have on your rates. If you’re looking for the most economical car for your urban commute, take a serious look at these five vehicles. Not only are they great on gas, they are a blast to drive!

Hitting a financial hitch in life is becoming more and more prevalent. Although it cannot always be prevented, it can be weathered through and pulled out of. If you have hit a financial roadblock and are looking at needing to repair the damage that has been done, don’t worry, with a little hard work and perseverance, you too can rebuild.

Don’t Dwell on the Past

What happened is what happened and there is not a thing you can do to change it. The best thing for you to do is to gather all of the information you can from what occurred and then forget about the rest. Once you have this information, you will then have the answers you need to be able to proceed forward.

The information you will look at will include your spending habits, bills, credit report, budget (if you have one), income, any anything else that has to do with money coming into and going out of your pocketbook. Once you have this information together, you will need to determine why it is that you are in the position you are in. Often times our financial situation is due to outside forces that we do not have much control over, however we still need to find control anywhere we can when it comes to our finances. Find where you have control and work within those parameters.

Live in the Present

When making a financial plan, it is imperative to make your budget from what you are currently making, not on projected income. Make sure that it is reliable income that you can count on to come in on a regular basis. Also, live below your means, not at them as situations can and will change at a moment’s notice. You want to ensure that you put up safety blocks in case you find yourself back where you were to begin with. So, make a plan and work the plan.

Look Ahead to the Future

Once you have forgotten about the past and have learned about the present, it is now time to start preparing for the future. One of the first things you should do is to set up an emergency fund so that you can give yourself some breathing room. Put aside as much as you are able, but probably do not need more than a thousand put away. This money will be to take care of things like auto repair (to get your car running, not to improve upon it), medical emergencies, insurance deductibles, repair/replace appliances, and any other emergency that you may encounter.

Another piece of looking ahead to the future is to rebuild your credit. In most cases when financial disaster strikes, it’s our credit that takes the biggest hit and has some long lasting effects. In order to get yourself back up and running, work within your means to get your credit score up to snuff. If you have credit that you are paying on, continue paying on it on time. If you have lines of credit that are at their maximum limit, reduce the balance down to well below the limit. If you have collections, make the arrangements to get them paid off. If you don’t have any credit to work with, find a way to open a small line of credit. This can be done by talking to your bank or even by finding credit card companies that offer lines of credit to those with adverse credit situations.

Regardless of where you came from, you can make a plan for where you are and make the change for where you want to be. Do not continue to look into the past. Instead, live in the present while looking toward the future. A little hard work can get you where you want to be.

You only get one first date, and there is a lot of pressure to make a great first impression on the other person. Just like you would dress in a suit and tie for a first interview, it’s important to dress to impress for your first date. We’re not saying that you should wear a suit, but you should wear something that shows that you are fashionable and care about your appearance. After all, your date is looking for someone that they will be happy to have on their arm. Here are a few outfit ideas for different first date situations you are likely to encounter:

Button-Down Shirt | Jeans | Aviator Sunglasses | Boat Shoes | Light Jacket

When going on a first date, you can’t go wrong with having dinner at a nice restaurant followed by a movie (of her choice, of course). Layering is a popular trend, so incorporate it by wearing a light jacket over a button down shirt. If you are going for a more casual dinner and it’s warm outside, you can opt for a polo instead of a long sleeve shirt. Still bring a light jacket, since the movie theatre or restaurant could be cold. You can then offer your jacket to your date to show you are a true gentleman. A nice pair of darker jeans and casual loafers or dress shoes will look very smart with your top selection. To complete the look, opt to include a pair of fashionable sunglasses, such as aviators, for when you walk outdoors during the sunset. If you have a silver or gold watch, I suggest wearing it for this date.

Button-Down Shirt | Sweater | Retro Sunglasses | Pants | Boots

Another popular first date, or “getting to know you” meet-up, is having a cup of coffee during a break in your work day (or over the weekend). If it’s sunny out, many will enjoy their coffee at an outdoor table or a local park/outdoor venue. While the goal of this date is to get to know the other person and see if you hit it off, you still need to dress to impress. Unless it is above 80 degrees, you will want to wear a nice pair of khakis (although jeans will work too). If it is a chilly day, I suggest wearing a nice collared shirt with a sweater over it. You will also want to wear a nice pair of boots that don’t go above your ankle. If it’s warmer out, a nice pair of clean sneakers can also be worn and will still look stylish. Since you will be outdoors, I suggest bringing a pair of sunglasses so that you don’t have to squint while looking at your partner. Retro sunglasses, such as the wayfarer, are very popular and are definitely in style!

Dress Shirt | Blazer | Khakis | Loafers

Many adults like to get to know each other over a drink at an upscale bar or lounge. For a date like this, it’s important to dress a bit nicer than business casual, but don’t go overboard and wear a suit (unless you are meeting after work and you wear a suit to work). I suggest wearing a dress shirt with a nice pair of khakis. You will want to wear a blazer or sports jacket to dress up a bit and signal to your date that you care how you look for the occasion. To complete the look, you should wear a pair of dress shoes or loafers and make sure your belt matches your shoes!

We hope these tips lead to a successful first date and hopefully many more to follow! Do you have a lucky item you wear or carry with you on dates? Let us know in the comments below!

Do you know everything there is to know about everything? Are you constantly amazing your friends with your knowledge of the mundane? Perhaps you even impress yourself with all of the facts that your brain holds. If so, chances are you are addicted to trivia. If you’ve got a mobile device, there is a trivia app out there just shrieking your name. Here are five of the best:

Ben Stein: It’s Trivial

“Bueller? Bueller?” If you are of a certain age, there is no way you will ever forget Ben Stein’s nasal monotone in the front of Ferris’ classroom. The actor, comedian, politician, lawyer and writer are immediately recognizable even for those who can’t quite remember his name. If you’ve ever seen Ben on television, whether speaking or hosting a game show, you’ll know what to expect: witty, wry comments and plenty of attitudes. When you get one of Ben’s questions wrong, you’ll be properly chastised; get it right and you may still get chastised!

Trivial Pursuit

Who hasn’t played one version or another of the popular, much-loved board game? Those who have will be immediately familiar with the game play of the app. Unlike some other trivia apps, you can connect with up to three other people via your Wi-Fi connection for truly competitive game play. With customizable time limits, you can play the game no matter where you are and with five different expansion packs, you’ll never run out of questions.

PopQ Trivia

This app is perfect for music lovers of all ages. Every question in the quiz revolves around the pop music industry, both then and now. Remember those one-hit wonders? You better; they’re in here!

People often think that jewellery is something especially reserved for women, and that there aren’t many (if any at all) options for men to choose from. This assumption is completely wrong, as there are in fact many fantastic and classic pieces you can opt for, from all ranges of style and price too.

Perhaps the most popular option for men looking to invest some money in a special piece is The Watch. A high quality watch can last through several generations, so picking a high quality and established brand is very important. Go for a long lasting material such as leather for your strap, and choose a metal such as Gold or Silver for the finishing’s. Many high end watch makers will also offers engravings or personalisation such as diamond embedding – so you really can completely tailor it to your individual style. Great for the man who likes to keep things simple and understated – but also a great option if you like flashy jewellery because of the amount of variety available.

If you’re the kind of guy who only really makes the effort with jewellery or accessories on special occasions, then the best option for you is probably something like Cufflinks. Cufflinks add the finishing touch to a good suit and a good pair of cufflinks can also be a great conversation starter (who’d have thought?) Go for timeless and classic Silver or Platinum as the colour of these metals is a nice neutral tone which will go with whatever colour tie or shirt you’ve chosen. Similarly, with cufflinks – consider paying that bit extra or engraving or diamond embedding.

For the business man, an often overlook jewellery option is the Tie Clip. The tie clip is simple and understated and yet (much like cufflinks) adds the finished touch to a suit. It’s an understated and yet very classic look to sport one of these – think Mad Men 1950s style.

The Ring is probably the most common piece of jewellery for men. The ring is a subtle piece of jewellery and something men often choose to wear once married. There’s nothing stopping you from purchasing a ring before then though – there are lots of great ring options for men, and there are so many styles available that you’re guaranteed to find something to your taste. You’re not limited to wearing the ring on your finger either, for something a little different try opting for a thumb ring or even a ring worn on a chain around your neck.

Finally – for the guy who likes a bit of bling, your options are endless. Take a trip to a jeweller and ask them what kinds of fine jewellery they can offer men. They’ll most likely present you with an array of diamond earrings, bracelets, chains and pendants – all of which are completely acceptable now for men to wear and experiment with. Earrings are a great choice for men who don’t want anything to large but still want to make a statement, and bracelets and chains offer that bit of bling for the guy who doesn’t have his ears pierced, so you’re covered from all angles!
