Everyone wants their wedding to be a wonderful, awesome, memorable occasion. Of course what that means, and what form that can take, can be as varied and numerous as the couples out there. There are some things that are unilateral musts for any wedding though, and if you take care of each of these things, there is no doubt your special day will be one of the best and most memorable days of your entire life.

Here are some of those “Must-Haves” for any wedding.

1. A great, meaningful location for the ceremony

Many memories fade over the years, there is no getting around that. While it may be hard to imagine this now, in time you may find it difficult to remember everyone who was there at your wedding, what conversations you had, what the best man said for his toast, what you ate for dinner, and so on. But one thing you will never, ever forget is the location of the wedding, what it looked like and how beautiful it was. So be sure to choose a beautiful location and if possible, one that has a lot of meaning to you, perhaps the first place you met, or the venue of your first date.

2. Friends

Friends are without a doubt one of the most important parts of your wedding. Be sure to include everyone who has meant something to you in your journey to this special day, everyone who has been an integral part of your life and helped you to come to this point in your life. On your wedding day, you are beginning a new life with the love of your life, and your friends are there to support and encourage you in your new beginning. Be sure you think of everyone who should be there – special work friends, old professors or teachers, childhood friends, college friends, neighbours, and so on.

3. Family

Weddings are wonderful times to bring people together, and especially to see family members that you don’t get to see often. Even if it’s been a long time or if you had a rift ages ago, do keep your family members both close and distant in mind when you’re planning your wedding. It is a good beginning for your new life together and your new family to be as inclusive and peaceful as possible with all your existing family members, and it’s a great opportunity to meet and start blending the two extended families into one.

4. A photographer

Believe it or not, some people actually consider skimping on a photographer for their wedding. Whether it’s to save money or they’re camera shy or whatever the reason for it, not having a photographer is a big mistake. Good photographs of your special day are definitely must haves for your wedding. So while it’s understandable to want to save money, doing it by not hiring a wedding photographer is not a good idea.

5. A videographer

Similar to a photographer, having a good videographer at your wedding is a very good idea. Photographs are very important, but so is capturing all the movement, sound, and emotion of the day. With a videographer you will have a record of the most important moments like the moment the groom sees his beautiful bride walking down the aisle towards him, the speaking of the vows, the exchanging of the rings, the best man’s toast, and all the fun dancing at the reception. These are memories that will fade in time and should never be forgotten. A videographer is definitely a must have at your wedding.

Who doesn’t love attending a good old-fashioned fun wedding? You get to see great friends and/or family, enjoy delicious food, and dance the night away. One of the biggest challenges in attending or planning a wedding is making your part in it memorable. How do you set your wedding apart from all the rest? Or how do you find that perfect gift for that perfect couple?

The majority of couples register at a department store or mainstream store that most guests have access to. Of course you don’t want to deviate from the registry too much, but here’s an idea to make your gift a bit more personal than the rest. Purchase a kitchen item from the bride and groom’s registry but pair it up with matching newlywed aprons and an appropriate cookbook. For instance, if you buy a Kitchen-Aid, include a cookbook specifically for baking, or if you went with the Chinese wok that they just had to have, pair it up with an Asian cookbook. You’re buying them something they wanted, and you’re also showing that you put your own thought into the gift.

And what if you’re the lucky bride or groom, looking to make your wedding memorable and unique for your guests? One way to accomplish this is by giving your bridal party members customized and unique gifts. Many brides like to give jewelry to their bridesmaids, but instead of buying everyone the same piece of jewelry, think about the different styles and preferences of your girls. Personalizing jewelry doesn’t have to be expensive, it just requires a bit more time and thought. Include initials, or give each girl a uniquely shaped necklace. No matter what, you want each girl to know that you thought about her preferences!

What about the rest of your wedding guests? How can you make them remember your wedding above all others? This is where humour and creativity really come into play. Some weddings have included karaoke as a part of their music preferences. Some of the best karaoke moments come after a few glasses of champagne! Another option is to personalize your wedding cake; it’s always one of the main attractions at any wedding. Include your initials on the cake itself, and/or personalize the traditional wedding cake toppers with fun and unique wedding cake toppers!

Weddings are truly a special event for everyone involved, and we all want our role in that special day to be unique and memorable. Whether it’s thinking outside the box for a unique gift, providing custom bridal accessories, or making your cake a little funky and one-of-a-kind, have fun and enjoy the day!

We’ve all heard stories about how many weeks or months pay should be spent on an engagement ring and how diamonds are the only way to show someone that you love them, but are these things really true? Is there really a hard and fast rule on how much a ring has to cost in order for someone to know that you truly love them? Of course not. How many diamonds are in a ring, how many carats it is, or even how much it cost is of little consequence. What matters is that you choose a ring that will make her happy and that will suit her style and personality.

It is important to note that price certainly does add luxury. Purchasing a gold ring rather than gold plating means that you get jewelry that will look better and last much longer, but it isn’t all that matters. Diamonds are certainly the tradition, and they make a wonderful choice for a large number of brides. With that said, however, if your soon to be fiancée loves emeralds or thinks that rubies are the most incredible stones out there, then don’t hesitate to think outside of the box.

Your engagement isn’t about conforming to rules and traditions, and your ring shouldn’t be either. Take the time to really think about what your partner will love, and use those qualities to help you find the perfect ring. When you buy something that takes her breath away, money and carat size will be of little consequence. While spending enough money to ensure quality is always crucial, you don’t have to ensure that your ring cost exactly the right number of paychecks. The best advice anyone can follow when choosing an engagement ring is to put aside the rules and take the time to follow your heart instead.

There is a lot of work that goes into planning the perfect wedding. You want to have a day that you will remember for the rest of your life. While you will not likely forget your wedding day for as long as you live, having great pictures will help keep those memories from fading away. You will probably spend quite a bit of money on your wedding pictures. Great wedding pictures should really capture the personality of the people in them. Instead of opting for the same old boring poses, why not step out of the box a bit and create some personalized wedding photographs that showcase your unique personality?

Finding the Right Photographer

Any model will tell you that they look their best when they are working with a photographer that they trust. You should keep this in mind when you are choosing a wedding photographer. You are going to be capturing the most special day of your life. There will be a lot of emotions coursing through people on this happy occasion. You need to make sure that the photographer you choose is someone who can capture the emotions and love of your wedding day. Choose a photographer and take some time leading up to the wedding day to talk with them. You don’t have to be best friends, but you should at least have a feel for the photographer’s personality so you will feel at ease.

Have Creative Input

Too many married couples let the photographer run the show when it comes to the pictures that are taken. Let your photographer know that you have some specific shots in mind that you want to have included. You may want to include a few funnier shots or capture some romantic embraces. You might even want to hit a few different places that are meaningful to you and your new spouse. Be sure to let your photographer know that you want these special photos taken ahead of time to work out the details.

If you work with a great photographer that you trust and take the time to put in a little bit of thought to personalizing your wedding photographs, you will have an album full of memories that you will cherish forever.

If you’re in the process of planning your wedding, you have a lot of things to be concerned with. There seems to be no end to the details that have to be considered to pull off a beautiful wedding ceremony and a fun reception. Before you get too caught up in the minutia of your wedding plans, be sure to think about your invitations. You want to announce your special day in a unique way. Here are some tips to remember when purchasing wedding invitations.

Add Some Personality

It seems like every wedding invitation you get is based on the same few cookie-cutter templates. You and your fiancé have a personality, both individually and as a couple. Let that personality shine through in your wedding invitations. Instead of putting in the same boring, “Mr. and Mrs. so and so are proud to…,” add in a verse from your wedding song, or a favourite selection of poetry. You can even put in a line from a movie that you saw while you both were dating. Have some fun and let your personality shine through in your wedding invitations.

Buy All Your Printed Materials at Once

You will probably be buying more printed materials for your wedding besides invitations. Be sure to buy them all at the same time from the same company. You can save a significant amount of money by buying a few different things from the same printer. If you buy wedding invitations from one company and printed programs from another, you are likely to have to pay more. Printers are happy to cut you a deal if you buy all of your printed materials from them at the same time.

Hand Deliver When Possible

If you are inviting a lot of people to your wedding, don’t pay postage on every invitation. Some people say that it is a no-no to deliver your invitations in person, but it can save you quite a bit in postage expenses. You have better things to spend money on than postage. If you work with people that you are inviting, take all your invitations to work and give them to invitees. Visit family members who live close by and drop off their invite while you’re there. Every penny counts, so save some on postage by delivering in person.

Your wedding will be something that you and your future spouse will remember forever. Be sure to start the whole thing off on the right foot. Carefully consider your invitations and use the tips mentioned here for memorable, affordable invitations that your guests will cherish.
