To be single or not to be single? That is the Question.

Sometimes being single can feel like a monotonous bore:

  • Lonely nights with meals for one in front of the T.V.
  • Nights out with other (tedious, verging on tarty) singles who you would otherwise never associate with, however, the need for a Wing Woman is such that you find yourself propped up at the bar with them on a weekly basis.
  • Hearing the patronizing yet hopeful words from your mother and smug married friends, which go something like this “You’ll meet someone lovely soon dear”, “There’s a man waiting just round the corner” or “You really deserve someone special, he just hasn’t come along yet”. Dressing for a first date can be pretty stressful.  When searching through your wardrobe for the perfect outfit, you must consider how you want to present yourself and what each piece says about you (although your destination could also play a role in how you dress…you’re not going to wear an evening gown to go mountain-biking, for example).  You want to make sure you come across as the confident, sexy woman that you are without looking too buttoned down, or alternately, too inviting.  It can be extremely difficult to strike the right balance, but if you’re not sure what type of ensemble to don, you should at least attempt to avoid some of the worst fashion mistakes that women make on a first date.
