Fall 2011: Fabulous First Date Outfits
Nov 10th
So, you’ve secured that illusive first date. The hard part’s over right? Not so fast, you minx, you. Before you have a chance to win him over with your endless wit and intelligent conversation, Prince Charming will have formed his initial opinion of you based solely on what you’re wearing and how you presented yourself. Shallow, but true. And hey girly-girl, don’t pretend like you don’t do the same. Read the rest of this entry »
Dress For Dating Success
Oct 14th
One of my friends absolutely loves getting dressed up for dates. To her it’s fun and makes the experience of dating enjoyable. Basically she just loves the idea of doing the whole “dress up closet” thing (she also walks into clothing stores with the express purpose of playing dress up with ALL the clothes and then buying one or two items). However, for most of us, I daresay, getting ready for a date is not quite as fun. Read the rest of this entry »
To be single or not to be single? That is the Question.
Jan 21st
Sometimes being single can feel like a monotonous bore:
- Lonely nights with meals for one in front of the T.V.
- Nights out with other (tedious, verging on tarty) singles who you would otherwise never associate with, however, the need for a Wing Woman is such that you find yourself propped up at the bar with them on a weekly basis.
- Hearing the patronizing yet hopeful words from your mother and smug married friends, which go something like this “You’ll meet someone lovely soon dear”, “There’s a man waiting just round the corner” or “You really deserve someone special, he just hasn’t come along yet”. (OK fabulous… Where is he???) Read the rest of this entry »
How to Pull off Sexy (Without Looking Sleazy)
Dec 4th
There is a fine line between choosing an outfit that makes a paramour sit up and take notice and picking one that leaves you looking like a tart. But how can you tell when you’ve crossed over to the wrong side of that line? It’s really a matter of class, but that’s a pretty vague description that tells you very little about the logistics of planning your ensemble. You probably know enough not to leave the house dressed like a streetwalker, but it’s all too easy to go a bit overboard with skin-tight spandex or body-baring mini-skirts. So if you’re not sure how to put together a look that exhibits the confident and sexy woman you are (rather than implying that you’re a commodity ready to be bought and sold), perhaps you should heed some helpful tips. 5 Style Don’ts for Your First Date
Dec 4th
Dressing for a first date can be pretty stressful. When searching through your wardrobe for the perfect outfit, you must consider how you want to present yourself and what each piece says about you (although your destination could also play a role in how you dress…you’re not going to wear an evening gown to go mountain-biking, for example). You want to make sure you come across as the confident, sexy woman that you are without looking too buttoned down, or alternately, too inviting. It can be extremely difficult to strike the right balance, but if you’re not sure what type of ensemble to don, you should at least attempt to avoid some of the worst fashion mistakes that women make on a first date. To Snag Great Mates, Love Yourself First
Jul 12th
Dating can be an interesting emotional adventure. However, much of the problem may not be with the person sitting across the restaurant table from you.
