Jeans are a fashion staple that are part of everyone’s wardrobe. Rarely do we come across a more versatile style than denim. From the stonewash days of the 80s to the reemergence of the skinny jean, everyone loves denim and it works on all body types. Jeans can be dressed up or down and can be paired with almost anything.

The only challenging part of jeans is purchasing a pair. There are so many cuts, fits and brands, the idea of finding the prefect pair can become a daunting task. Luckily, you are reading this. Here you will find all of the tips you need in order to buy the prefect pair that will compliment your body type.

When shopping for a pair of jeans, first consider your height. You want to make sure the leg stops at the right point. If you are below 5 feet 4 inches shop in the petite or short section, those who are 5’4 through 5’7 are considered average and those with a height above 5’7 should shop to the tall sections.

After the height situation is figured out, body shape is next. For those who are thin with very few curves, a straight leg jean is best. It flatters a thin figure and avoids making the body look oddly proportioned. If you have wider hips and a larger derrière, a boot cut is jean is a great option. Since it slightly flares at the leg is balances out your body and creates a sleek silhouette. Curvier individuals can look great with a wide leg jean or a boot cut. They can accentuate curves and flatter curves flawlessly.

Two denim styles that work for every body type are skinny jeans and boyfriend jeans. As long as they fit properly, skinny jeans can show off curves or flatter a thin shape. They are perfect for showing off an impressive bottom or great legs. Boyfriend jeans are relaxed in fit but are not oversized which pairs well with any body type.

Aside from body types and denim styles that work best with them, the rise of the denim should also be considered. A mid-rise works for every body type. A high rise can be very flattering for a curvy figure as long as it fit properly and a low rise is best on a thinner figure.

If you follow these tips while purchasing your next pair of jeans, you will find the perfect pair for you. Everyone needs jeans they can throw on and look amazing in. All you have to do is shop for those that are going to compliment your figure. Try a few pairs on and buy the ones that make you look fabulous.
