There is so much new season fashion on the high street; it can be overwhelming and more importantly expensive. But that’s where ladies shoes come in. They’re a great way to nail a new season trend and create a fresh look without breaking the bank. Let’s take a look at the top trends to buy into this spring/summer.

Rainbow Brights

This season it’s all about having fun with colour, and the best way to make your outfit pop is to wear vibrant hued shoes. Team these with a contrasting outfit for maximum impact. Imagine oranges with purples, pinks with blues; there are no rules so have a bit of fun with your look. Eye popping shoes will also look great with spring/summer’s print trend. But to create a more subtle, sophisticated style pair bright shoes with black or neutral tones.

Animal Print

This print is a style classic and one well worth investing in. But with animal print wear with caution, as wearing too much of it can make you look cheap. The great thing about opting for animal print shoes is they’re a much more understated way to nail this trend. Popular animal prints for spring/summer are leopard print and zebra print. But for something a bit different and more fashion forward look out for ladies shoes in neon animal print and big cat spots.

Wedges

These are the top style for spring/summer. And with so many variations, you’ll discover everything from espadrilles to flatforms and sky high platforms. With such a wide range of shoes to choose from there’s one to suit every style and personality. Nail two trends in one and brighten up your wardrobe by opting for eye popping rainbow shades, or even animal prints such as snake or leopard print.

Whether you opt for shoes or wedges in rainbow brights or animal prints, remember that new season trends needn’t break the bank! Ladies shoes are an inexpensive and effortless way to update your new season wardrobe.

A great pair of surf shorts and a fabulous T-shirt will give you a pulled together look without making it seem as though you tried too hard. Here are three great printed T-shirt styles that will give you the look you desire for your day on the beach.

Vintage

Vintage tees are all the rage right now. This type of T-shirt provides a comfortable style without making you look sloppy. Look for a T-shirt made of 100 percent cotton for a soft feel and great fit. Green, blue and other earth tones look great when coupled with a vintage tee. Look for a retro print as well. Nothing will throw off your look quicker than a vintage inspired tee with a brand, new shiny screen print. The perfect vintage tee will combine material and design seamlessly.

Ringer

Ringer tees are making a comeback. They look sporty and casual; perfect for the beach. A ringer tee, if you don’t know, is a T-shirt that has a body of one colour and neckline and sleeve edges of a different colour. Look for a T-shirt that has a body in one colour and “rings” in a shade of the body colour, for instance, a green body with a dark green neckline and sleeve edges. These colour choices lend a modern look to an old favourite.

Organic

An organic printed tee is made from 100 percent organic cotton, washed and printed with eco-friendly dyes, pre-shrunk and are certified sweatshop free. There’s no better choice if you’ve adopted a green lifestyle. And, really, what better shirt to wear to the beach than one made with natural resources? Most organic tees are made with ring-spun cotton, giving them the softest feel possible.

Long-Sleeve

Most people don’t consider long-sleeve T-shirts for a day on the beach but consider this: if your skin is covered it can’t get burned! Long-sleeve tees are great for layering; if it’s too warm during the day, you’ll be able to wear it in the evening when the party starts to wind down.

Printed Polo

Printed polo shirts have become increasing stylish as rugby and soccer become more popular in the US. Printed polo shirts with number on the sleeve or back and team logos on the chest look stylish anywhere but particularly on the beach. A printed polo paired with a pair of plaid shorts looks especially fashionable. Choose a shirt that pulls one of the colours from your shorts and you’ll look coordinated and classy without looking over-dressed.

Hooded Tee

Hooded tees look great on girls and give you a way to cover your head without having to resort to a boyish baseball cap. Pick a hooded tee that is form fitting rather than loose so you don’t look sloppy. A great beach themed print will make your summer hoodie look fantastic with a pair of cute surf shorts and strappy sandals.

No matter which type of T-shirt you choose, be sure to look for one that sets you apart from the crowd. Look for a print that virtually screams your name! Printed tees are a great way to let the world know where you stand on issues, which team you follow or even which businesses you support. Have fun with it! Whether you stick with a beach theme or go your own way, T-shirts are a fabulous avenue for expression.

Author’s Bio

Sylvia Patterson is a marketing consultant for small businesses and she suggests that printed t shirts are one of the most cost effective ways to get your name out in front of the general public.

Don’t give in to winter’s frosty chill without a fight! Instead of sticking to dark wools and neutral tones, brighten up your day by adding a few warm weather items to your daily look. Although it’s far too cold to walk around in shorts and sandals, you can remind yourself spring is just right around the corner with one of these fresh style choices:

1. Fruitz Watches

Simply glance at this colourful timepiece, and you’ll remember the smell of fresh summer fruit at the peak of ripeness. Whether you prefer blueberries, raspberries, or exotic dragon fruit, these brightly colored watches by Fruitz will definitely tease you with thoughts of spring!

2. Spring Colour Choices

The catwalks at the New York Fashion Week’s spring show lit up in bright orange and chartreuse. How can the winter blues affect your mood when you’re wearing such lovely warm-weather colours?
3. Add a Few Floral Touches

With floral prints also heavily represented in spring fashion shows, get an early start by adding a piece or two now. Pair a lovely floral camisole with a warmer jacket for an eclectic look.

4. Long, Romantic Skirts

This spring and summer, hem lengths have dropped. From knee lengths to flowing skirts that brush the floor, yards of fabric that catch the breezes are in, and minis and micros are out.

If you pair the lightweight fabrics of these newer items with a seasonal trench coat, you’ll be able to weather the storm outside while pretending springtime has already arrived while you’re inside!

5. Pre-Swim Suit Season

If you’re already dreading shopping for a new bathing suit, why not update your lingerie collection instead? Indulge yourself in a few lacy little next-to-nothings.

Not only will you feel renewed while wearing fresh silk and lace against your skin, it might inspire you to get a head-start on preparing for this year’s beach season.

6. Add a Bloom to Your Cheeks!

Who said that your spring-time look has to stop with clothing and accessories? Why not update your hairstyle or change your makeup for a lighter look? Nothing makes us feel more refreshed than a trip to the salon.

Make an appointment for a whole new you complete with a facial, cut or blow-out, and a makeup consultation. While you’re at it, why not add in a great spray-on tan?

7. Pamper Your Feet

While you may keep up with your manicure all year long, it’s easy to neglect your feet during the cold weather months. Why not give yourself a full-blown pedicure?

Although you can’t show off your perfectly-groomed toes in flip-flops and sandals just yet, it will make you feel better knowing that you could if you were suddenly gifted with a trip to the tropics. This year, it’s pretty much anything goes with nail colour.

Choose from the brightest neons, the darkest vibrant shades, shocking metallics, or safe neutrals.

By carefully pairing the new fashions of spring and summer 2011 with enough of your sensible winter clothing to stay warm, you can feel comfortable and fresh as a summer’s day!

As a woman, you frequently make over your own wardrobe to match the seasons. Winter clothes are packed away to make room for summer things, and your whole wardrobe shifts to coordinate with the sunny days ahead. Unfortunately, without your help, it can be hard to get the rest of your family to take the initiative to make the switch to summer styles.

Take your spouse, for example. While he may be only too eager to start wearing his workout shorts around the house, he’s not likely to do much with the rest of his closet unless you start prodding him along. Rather than a consistent nagging pressure, set up a weekend afternoon to help him put away the clothes that will be too heavy to be comfortable in the summer months. This will help you both be able to spot holes in his summer wardrobe, and places where his summer clothes are seasons – if not decades – out of style.

Children are also a concern. Many children have definite favourites in their wardrobe and can throw a fit if you simply pack up their most popular outfits for the season. Instead, invite them into the process. Have your toddler help you put sweaters in boxes, or ask your elementary aged child to help you pick out which outfits are January clothes and which should be saved for July. By making them a part of the process, you cut down on the surprise factor and save yourself from enduring tantrums or fits over changes in the closet.

Though your own wardrobe will be a change than can be made independently, getting your whole family into summer styles takes extra effort and smart tactics. However, by taking the time to work one on one with your spouse and your children, you can bridge the whole family into summer seasonal wear with minimum stress or strife.

  Tweet This Post
