Caring for Your Men’s Emo Hairstyle
The emo hairstyle is one of the hottest styles for young men today, but there are many aspects of the cut that allows each individual to express himself.
The word emo is a short form of the word “emotional”. Today, the term is used widely to describe an alternative type of style. The haircuts that most deeply reflect your personal style can be accurately called emo hairstyles. They are closely related to the gothic and punk hairstyles that were popular among artists of alternative music in the 1980′s.
An emo hair style is as individual as you are, and although the basic style is similar, it will look a bit different as each person puts his own feelings into it. Emo haircuts as a rule do share some aspects, though.
The texture of emo hairstyles is created by spiking, uneven cutting, or layering of your hair. They often look “piecey”, which means that ends or pieces of hair are emphasized. Pieces of hair and fringes are often placed strategically in order to achieve the look you desire.
Contrasting colours and lengths, and the juxtaposition of a few different looks are also parts of most men’s emo hairstyles. A longer, sleek layer underneath may be offset by showing shorter spikes on top.
Emo hairstyles are often characterized by rich colours like deep brunette or black, often including stark highlights in unusual shades. Black hair with white accents is not unusual, although dark brunette with red or orange streaks is probably more common. Any colour that you would consider as vibrant and bold can be part of the emo look.
Looser looks of men’s hairstyles in the emo category are not typically restrained by accessories. Emotion is not something that can be restrained, which emo style reflects. Depending on the hair type, heavy products may be necessary to keep the style.
The long bangs of emo hairstyles often obscure one eye. Not every emo hairstyle has bangs, but the great majority of them do. You might like a messy look that is deliberate to reflect your own style. Emo hairstyles are very popular with young people, and young emotions are not often clearly defined or straightforward. To reflect your mood your emo style can change from day to day.
