Wedding Day Hairstyles
Before you decide on the perfect wedding hairstyle for your big day, you’ll want to do some research to find the look for you. Look in bridal magazines, visit bridal sites online, and look at pictures of wedding hairstyles that will work for you.
Picture yourself in your wedding dress and remember that the wedding hairstyle you select should accent the dress and flatter your look. Backless dresses look excellent with updo hairstyles, and princess gowns can be perfectly complemented by romantic ringlets. If you’re getting married on the beach, long waves of hair will be picture-perfect for the occasion.
You’ll want to make sure you choose a stylist who has experience in hairstyling for weddings. Your wedding day is a day you’ll remember for your whole life, and if you don’t have a regular stylist find one who will be able to give you the look you deserve. You may be able to get helpful recommendations on hairstyles for weddings from recent brides and friends.
Be sure to not make any drastic alterations to your hair in the six months before your special day. Don’t chemically straighten, perm, colour or trim your hair by yourself. If you’ve decided you want to wear a wedding hairstyles updo but your hair is short, begin letting it grow out as soon as you can.
If you cannot decided between two wedding hairstyles, you can show off one formal style during the wedding ceremony and then a more relaxed style for the reception. Cascading, loose curls will look relaxed but lovely at your reception.
If you want to show off a wedding updo on your special day, don’t do any partial highlighting on your hair before the wedding. An updo with two-tone colours is not flattering. If your hair is thin, consider using hair extensions or hidden hairpieces that will add length, volume and staying power for your wedding day hairstyle.
If you normally wear a simple hairstyle, don’t select an outrageous wedding hairstyle for your wedding day. You won’t feel or look like yourself which may make you uncomfortable. If you’ll be having your hair styled the day of your wedding, allow a few hours so you don’t have to hurry. Be sure to check with your stylist and see if there will be an additional charge for wedding day styling, or check to see if you can to do a dry run before the big day.
