With fall upon us, there are interesting goings-on in the world of hair fashion. Unlike previous years where classic and simple styles have ruled the runways and streets during the autumn months, many fashion experts are pointing out a few unlikely trends that are turning into major hits.

A woman that is thinking about a change this fall may wish to take a look at these interesting hairstyles that are taking the world by storm to see if one may be exactly the type of change she is looking for. The word of the fall season is complicated and all of these emerging hairstyles have a high degree of sophistication.

More than any year in recent history, the braid is showing up all over the place this fall. Designers like Carlos Miele and Lanvin have incorporated several different braided styles into their runway shoes and the look has been mirrored by many everyday women who are bringing their own ideas to the table. While the simple braids of yesteryear are making an appearance, the interesting application of the braids is in the new ways that they are being created and used. Twin braids with a part in the middle are making the presence felt, as well as milkmaid braids and braids that have been swept to the side. Perhaps the most striking braids to show up are the ones that are wrapped around the entire head to give a crown effect.

In addition to braids, there are other interesting styles taking center stage during the autumn of 2011. Complicated updo hairstyles are coming back in style as women use style cues from the 1920s and 1930s and update them with modern ideas. Always a trend setter, the design team at Chanel unveiled a number of new updo creations with the release of their fall fashion line, including a side swept updo hairstyle that is already becoming one of the most wanted in exclusive New York and Los Angeles salons. The major advantage of these new updo creations is the amount of experimentation that can be done with the style. While every incarnation of the complicated updo is not necessarily a success, it is a style that many women can try at home.

Not necessarily a specific hairstyle, there have also been a few interesting trends taking place that address women’s hair in general. The bangs are certainly on the comeback trail, with very long bangs, a la 1980s, showing up in some pretty unexpected places. Also, it seems that the parting decision for this fall is in the center. Side parts are becoming less common as many women have made the decision to create a symmetrical look with the central line. The banks and center parts are also being used in conjunction with the updos and braids to create many design elements within a single hairstyle. As stated before, the name of the game this fall is complicated, so don’t be surprised to see plenty of interesting hairstyles making their way into the mainstream.
