A Fun Look at the History of the Bra

Women have been wearing bras for centuries, but the reason for bras has been ever changing. Starting out as a necessity, uncomfortable wear-age like the corset was so restricting that you could barely breathe. Moving into later periods of time, the bra became necessary (and I use that word loosely) for size. Women wanted bigger and better- especially when being compared to their female friends. Hence the “size” revolution. Later on, bras became more of a fashion statement. No one TRULY cared about function. As long as it held up the girls, the crazier and wilder it looked, the better.
