The Vibe

The vibe; it’s all about modern luxury in a unique historical building. Back in 1912, The VanderMarck was designed for the town doctor and Mayor by renowned Toronto Architect, Eden Smith. Taking the simplistic nature of this old house, The VanderMarck has transformed each of their rooms to create memorable experiences for their guests. We were welcomed with the peaceful sounds of flowing fountains, modern in-room designs and a cozy patio—every detail in the hotel is one of a kind. What we loved is the keyless entry—we could come and go as we pleased stepping into and out of this little oasis of a hotel.

The Neighbourhood

The VanderMarck is located in Collingwood’s vibrant downtown. Within walking distance to boutique shops, delectable restaurants, cafes and the theatre you simply feel like you’re apart of the community while staying in one of their quaint apartment-style rooms. Take a short drive to some of the best attractions in the area including the relaxing Scandinave Spa, Blue Mountain, the Scenic Caves, Wasaga Beach, The Bruce Trail and some world-class golf courses. We spent the afternoon strolling through downtown and taking some time to relax at the spa, and simply had the best day.

The Room

Home to nine suites located on three floors, The VanderMarck is grounded in its historical roots and provides guests with the loveliest modern designs. From luxury linens, beautiful photography, a rad kitchen (with the cutest dishwashers!), in-room laundry, designer furniture, and handcrafted bath products, each room is filled to the brim with anything and everything you can think of to make your stay a relaxing one. When we first walked into the suite, we were impressed with how spacious the living room and kitchen were. Each bedroom was designed with a minimalist feel that felt calming to the nervous system as we had the soundest of sleeps each night. And with Molekule air purifiers, local Blue Mountain tea, a Nespresso coffee machine and contactless check-in, we felt taken care of during our stay.

The Extras

For the full VanderMarck experience check out their new food program with Chef Justin from Cabin Kitchen. From homemade blueberry scones to ancient grains curry and lobster bisuqe, guests are invited to select delicious food prepared by Chef Justin that is delivered and stocked in your kitchen before you arrival in Collingwood. We highly suggest getting your hands on some scones, as it’s the perfect treat to have while enjoying a cup of perfectly brewed coffee in the morning.

The Verdict

Simply put, we can’t wait to get back here. The VanderMarck Boutique Hotel is the place to go if you’re looking to spend some time close to the slopes and the trails. Adventure awaits while in Collingwood, and we’re excited for our next stay-cataion here!
