#EditorsPicks from our Editorial Coordinator, Alyssa Harilall

With the holiday season approaching and the cold winter weather already in the city of Toronto, our Editorial Coordinator, Alyssa Harilall, put together a list of her favourite must-have items to keep you warm and in the festive spirit this season!

Scroll below to see her recommendations and to shop a few festive favourites!

Purdys ‘Dear Santa’ Chocolate Bar

“The holiday season screams ‘chocolate’ to me, with all the advent calendars and chocolate treats being made and gifted. This chocolate bar in particular is a favourite of mine, not just because it tastes great, but because two dollars from the sale of each bar goes towards supporting children’s hospital foundations across the country. So when you purchase this chocolate bar you can feel a little bit better about it eating it- and worry less about the calories!”

Dr. Martens 1460 Kolbert Wintergrip

“Everyone needs a good pair of winter boots, especially when you live in Ontario, but I have always found the warmest boots to be super clunky and the opposite of fashionable- until I bought this pair of wintergrip Dr. Martens! They are super warm (lined with faux fur) and super cute. They can be rolled down to have a stylish fur moment or tied up to look more sleek. I definitely recommend these boots if you’re looking for something warm and fashionable to walk around the city in.”

Anthropologie: Nathalie Lete Gingerbread House Mug

“I am a sucker for cute and unique Christmas themed mugs. Ones that are movie related, look antique or are one-of-a-kind! So when I found this adorable gingerbread house mug at Anthropologie I knew I had to have it! It’s surprisingly comfortable to hold and the colours are perfect for being extra festive and in the spirit this holiday season!”

Columbia Lost Lager II Beanie

“I love beanies – I could wear them everyday (especially on days where I don’t feel like doing my hair!) but I usually find that a lot of beanies are too large and long for me, so when I wear them it looks like I have a giant point on the top of my head. This Beanie from Columbia doesn’t do that! It fits snug on my head without being too tight and is so super warm. If you’re on the look out for your next favourite winter hat – this is it.”

UGG: Tasman Sheepskin Slippers

“My final must have winter/holiday item to buy are slippers! When I am at home I am constantly wearing slippers, so it is important for me to find ones that are warm, comfortable and provide a form of support for my feet. These Uggs weren’t my first choice – but I am so glad that I made the purchase. They are so warm (lined with real fur) and are super comfortable to walk around in – for hours! The initial price seems like a lot when comparing these to non-UGG shoes but I promise you, they are worth every penny and in the long run they will last the test of time. I have had mine for just over a year now and they are still in perfect condition!”
