NYFW: What Your Fave Canadian Fashionistas Wore

With another New York Fashion Week in the books it’s time to look not only at what designers presented for spring/summer 2020, but what fashion ‘it girls’ wore throughout the week. Street style has become more and more popular each fashion week and has a huge impact on incoming fashion trends.

Let’s take a peek at what some Canadian fashionistas wore during NYFW.

Cailli & Sam Beckerman – @beckermanblog

Known for their eccentric and bold high fashion style, the Beckerman twins never cease to create moving works of art with their street style outfits.

So what style inspiration can you take from these looks?? The bolder the better for fall 2019!

Robin J – @withrobinj

Edmonton based Robin J is a fashion, beauty and lifestyle content creator who’s love of adventure rings throughout her Instagram and blog. Her outfits were on fire for New York Fashion Week, as she mixed bold pieces with her newly lilac ‘do.

The key trend to take from Robin’s fashion week style is that color reigns supreme this fall/winter and texture is bigger than ever. Look for fabrics with sheer detailing, embellishments, etc.

Lee Taylor – @legalleeblonde

Vancouver based Lee is changing the way we look at boss women in Fashion, she’s not only a successor lawyer but a stylish blogger that brings the “power suit” look to a whole new level.

Lee rocked 2 massive trends that we’ve seen this season and mixed them into one: fuchsia, which really is having a moment and a Power suit. The vest she wore with the bottoms allowed for a stunning pairing with the oversized puff sleeves and a combo that we will definitely be rocking this season.

Dominique Baker – @dominique.baker

Ottawa based Dominique is a breath of fresh air in the fashion blogging world. She doesn’t take herself too seriously, is always laughing and smiling, and shares outfit inspiration for your daily life.

Dominique is rocking two trends that will be huge for fall /winter that you can easily incorporate into your wardrobe. First, white boots! Whether ankle or knee high, flat or heeled, white boots will be the footwear of choice this season. Second, metalics! As we move into the holiday season gold and silver pieces, like Dominique’s mini skirt, will be right on trend.

Ana Pejkanovic – @marchandmayblog

Ana is a body positive fashion lover who knows how to take charge with her looks. She also shares equally beautiful and confident makeup and beauty content.

Move over pleated midi skirts; this season pleated maxi skirts are all the rage. Belt them with a fitted top like Ana did for a gorgeous fall/winter outfit. The other trend you don’t want to miss that Ana rocked during fashion week? Boiler suits. These instant confidence-boosters will have you feeling like Rosie the Riveter ready to take on the world.

Anna Lolomari – @zestystyleonthego

Anna is a global fashion explorer- having experienced and lived in 6 continents. She immigrated to Calgary in 2001 and has been bringing her world-wide inspired looks to Canada ever since (while also running an interior home design / décor business).

Anna’s NYFW looks focus on timeless pieces in quality fabrics. That is something that will never go out of style! You’ll also note her snakeskin dress; which is a print that is trending for fall.

Maud Poulin – @maudpoulin

Montreal based Maud brought her French Canadian style to the streets of New York for fashion week with some killer looks.

Don’t be afraid to embrace edgy fashion this fall/winter. Maud’s belted blazer with biker shorts is a perfect example of the street-meets-business trend we are seeing.

Shayna Wiwierski – @shayna_apopofcolor

Shayna is a beauty & fashion influencer who splits her time between Winnipeg and New York. Her style for fashion week was functional, wearble looks that one could actually see oneself wearing for a day running around New York City!

Don’t let the snakeskin trend fool you; leopard print is also here to stay as a trend this fall/winter as Shayna shows. To make your outfits feel fresh and on trend, do what Shayna did and style two leopard print pieces in one look.
