Last month, STYLE Canada checked-into the Kimpton Saint George Hotel located in the heart of Yorkville in downtown Toronto, read on for all the details.

The Vibe

Rooted in luxury, the Kimpton Saint George Hotel is a place of discovery. Locals and tourists alike are invited to dive deep into the history and eclectic cultures that make up the vibrant city of Toronto. From clean lines and cosy linens, the hotel is a place for all to gather and celebrate the beauty in each moment. Designed to give guests a deeper understanding of the city beyond its landmark attractions, the hotel’s unique design whimsically represents Toronto in all its glory. The moment you walk into Saint George you feel at home. From the welcoming staff, and picture perfect design elements to the locally designed modern furniture and roaring lounge fireplace, each unique space is here for you to feel into the neighbourhood’s bohemian spirit.  

The Neighbourhood

Located in the heart of Yorkville in downtown Toronto, the Saint George conveys the untold story of Toronto and all of its eclectic eccentricities. Mason Studio’s main goal for the hotels’ design was to evoke and embody the heart and soul of the Annex, while shining a light on the more intimate details of Toronto; which they have done perfectly. Take a stroll through the boutiques of Yorkville, peruse the aisles of Eataly for an authentic Italian experience or explore the Royal Ontario Museum eclectic works of art and history. The hotel is within walking distance of a plethora of restaurants, shops and experiences, which makes your stay simply wonderful.

The Room

A restful retreat will be your home for the weekend. With plush textiles, earthy tones, and the most comfortable furniture, your suite is a place to ease the tension from the hustle and bustle of Toronto just outside the hotel’s front doors. Locally-sourced artwork, paired with beautifully designed moments in each room, you’re simply invited to take in all of the natural comforts of the space. 

Guests are invited to stay in a traditional, luxurious guest room (home to king or queen beds), or are welcomed to level up by spending the night in one of their beautiful suites. Each suite is thoughtfully designed to offer a space to pour a drink after a long day, lounge on a luxe, soft sofa while listening to a collection of vinyls in the room. 

Each room is simply an urban sanctuary, and we were certainly smitten with the sleek lines, subtle, eclectic decor, and impeccable art in each space. With in-room yoga mats, cosy robes, Atelier Bloem amenities and Luxurious Frette sheets we were in heaven. The icing on the cake; well that would be the sweet soaker tub that we enjoyed our favourite book in after a long day of exploring the city. After a night here, you’ll feel re-energized to explore all that Toronto has to offer.

The Extras

From an evening social hour (daily from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the lobby), to an in-room facial by Radford, the hoteliers of the Kimpton Saint George have simply thought of everything to make your stay here one you’ll remember forever. With a focus on wellness, guests are invited to spend their morning working out in their spacious fitness centre, explore the city by cycling on a complimentary PUBLIC bicycle, or take to doing yoga in your room (each room has yoga mats to use during your stay). If you’re keen to get active while staying here, as you can see, they’ve thought of everything to make your stay as active as you wish. 

Dine at The Fortunate Fox, the restaurant at The Kimpton Saint George, for an evening of laughter and good food with your loved ones. This hip gastropub offers a space to pique your curiosity and senses. We loved our steak frites and the most decadent chocolate cake so much that we ended up dining here for lunch too.  

Finally, if you’re looking to book a business meeting or two while you’re here, check-out the intimate 1,500 square-foot pre-function lounge and meeting room designed to provide a place for you to collaborate with your team in a beautifully designed space.

The Verdict

The verdict; on our next visit to Toronto, we’ll be sure to book another stay at the Kimpton Saint George, as it is quite literally the most beautiful space.
